What to expect on the call.

Ten minutes, no prep needed. Here's how it usually goes.

1

Share what's going on

Tell us what's bringing you to therapy and what you're hoping will change. You don't need to have it all figured out.

2

Get matched thoughtfully

We'll talk through how we approach what you're dealing with and which of our therapists best fits your needs.

3

Decide with zero pressure

If it feels right, we'll schedule your first session. If not, no hurt feelings. We're not the right fit for everyone, and that's okay.

Who we work
best with.

Mellow works with high-achieving adults who are ready for more than a quick fix. People who are ready to invest in themselves, look beneath the surface, and understand the patterns shaping how they feel, relate, and move through life.

Real change takes more than insight. It means showing up honestly, staying engaged in the process, and practicing what you learn outside the therapy room.

Our therapists bring warmth, honesty, and depth. You bring a willingness to do the work. Together, we create change that feels meaningful, grounded, and built to last.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?+
We are out-of-network, which means we do not bill insurance directly. You pay at the time of your session, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your plan for possible reimbursement.
How much is a session?+
Sessions with Amanda are $250 per 50min. Sessions with Channing are $200 per 50min.
What is your cancellation policy?+
We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full session fee. Your hour is held for you, and we are not able to fill it on short notice. We know true emergencies happen, and we handle those case by case.
What is a superbill?+
A superbill is an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance company needs. You submit it to your PPO, and if you have out-of-network benefits, they reimburse you directly. We send one each month, and you can request one any time.
Can you prescribe medication?+
No. We are therapists, not prescribers. If medication is worth exploring, we keep a short list of psychiatrists in the area we trust.
Do you accept Medicare or Medi-Cal?+
No. Mellow is a private-pay practice and doesn't work with Medicare or Medi-Cal (Medicaid). If you're covered by either, we aren't able to be your provider, but we're glad to help point you toward someone who is.
Do you work with children or teens?+
We work with adults 18 and older. Younger clients deserve a clinician trained specifically in child and adolescent development.
No Surprises Act

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, if you are uninsured or not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. Because Mellow is a private-pay practice, we provide one before you get started, and you can request an estimate any time before you schedule. If you are ever billed at least $400 more than your estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS

Curious what your PPO plan covers?

Most PPO plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network therapy. Check your benefits before booking so you know what to expect.
