Licensed Therapist

A cash-pay role in West LA for a licensed clinician who wants to do great work without running a business.

About the role

Mellow is a boutique psychotherapy practice in West LA, founded by Amanda Burback. We're looking for a licensed clinician to join our small team and work with individual adults, while also seeing couples. We provide referrals, office space, marketing, billing support, and ongoing consultation so you can focus primarily on your clinical work and relationships with clients.

What you'd do

  • See individual adults and/or couples, depending on your training, for concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and couples therapy.
  • Work a hybrid schedule, in-person at our West LA office and over telehealth.
  • Build and hold a caseload that grows with you over time.
  • Stay connected to a small, collaborative team through regular consultation with Amanda and Channing.

Schedule and location

You'd see clients in-person at our West LA office at least two days a week, with any remaining sessions over telehealth. Right now, weekend availability on Saturday and Sunday is especially valuable to our clients, so weekend hours are a strong plus. You'd start part-time and build toward a fuller caseload over roughly your first three months, though the pace depends on client fit and demand rather than a fixed schedule.

Compensation

The full cash-pay rate for this role is $250 per individual session and $300 for couples. You keep 50% of what's collected, so $125 to $150 a session, and 65% of any clients you bring with you. You're also paid for late cancellations inside our 24-hour window, so your income stays steady. No insurance billing, no clawbacks, and your earnings grow with your caseload.

Who we're looking for

  • Licensed in California as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist.
  • Experience with anxiety, depression, and burnout is highly valued, along with comfort working with high-achieving professionals.
  • A warm, real, and effective clinical style, and an interest in long-term therapeutic relationships.
  • We're especially keen to hear from clinicians who work with couples, or want to, and bring training in a method like the Gottman Method.
